Perfect home-made bread with big brand mixers, show off your bakes with stunning serveware and earn pâtissier status with scales, stands and so much more. We’ve got everything you knead to get your baking skills up to scratch. Once you’ve popped in and stocked up, it’s time to test your culinary capabilities on these tasty tasks for you and three friends…

For the baking novice: Millionaire Shortbread Biscuits
Ingredients: Shortbread biscuits, 200g butter, 150g brown sugar, condensed milk, 250g chocolate

Step 1: Crush the biscuits and mix with 50g of melted butter, pop in the fridge for 20 mins

Step 2: Heat the sugar and leftover butter in a non-stick pan, stirring until melting. Add condensed milk and bring to a boil, keep on stirring. Once thickened, pour over your biscuit base, melt your chocolate and add this as the top layer. Return to the fridge to chill

Step 3: One set divide into small squares for sharing, and slabs for keeping to yourself – voila!

The practical challenge: Iced Buns
Ingredients: 500g white bread mix, 100g caster sugar, 1 egg, 350g icing sugar

Step 1: Throw the bread mix, egg, sugar and 300ml of warm water into the magnificent mixer you picked up at Homesense. Once it becomes a soft dough, knead until smooth. Unless you have a fancy proving drawer, cover over with cling film and leave in a warm place for around an hour

Step 2: Divide the dough into 20 even sausage-shaped pieces and pop onto an oiled baking tray. Cover again with cling film until they’ve become extra large sausage-shaped pieces

Remove film and cook at 180C for 10 mins, or until they have a delicious golden glow (like the one you’ve been aiming for all summer)

Once cool, it’s time to decorate. Mix your icing sugar with a splash of water and spread across the top of each bun. Rainbow sprinkles not compulsory but we strongly advise!

The jaw-dropper: Cupcake Bouquet
Cake ingredients: 110g self-raising flour, butter and sugar, 2 eggs, 1tsp vanilla extract and milk
Icing ingredients:140g butter, 280g icing sugar, 1 tbsp milk, pink food colouring

Step 1: Mix the butter, sugar, eggs and extract together

Step 2: Fold in the flour, adding the milk little by little. Spoon into green cases for maximum effect

tep 3: Bake for 15 mins at 180C. Once cooked throughout, set aside to cool on a wire rack

Step 4: Create your buttercream icing by beat the butter until soft, adding in the icing sugar and colouring as you go

Step 5: Load a piping bag and use a spiralling motion to cover the cupcakes in delicious icing

Step 6: Once set, you’re ready to make into a bouquet. Pierce each cupcake with a wooden skewer and pop into a foam ball. Completely cover the ball and tie a ribbon around for the final touch
